Separate by Type (node)

Split geometry into its loose points, open curves, and closed regions.

A mixed bundle (a point, an open curve, a closed region) split into three streams labeled Points in point blue, Curves in curve green, and Regions in region orange.

Sorts a mixed bundle of geometry into three clean streams by kind - so you can route each to a different downstream node (fill only the regions, say, or dedupe only the points).

Inputs

  • Geometry (any): the mixed geometry to split.

Outputs

  • Regions (region): the closed contours.
  • Curves (curve): the open (unclosed) contours.
  • Points (point): the loose points.

What it is for

Most of the tangles in a graph come from geometry arriving mixed when a node downstream wants one kind. A boolean that quietly ignores your points, a fill that skips the open curves. Putting this in the middle sorts the stream, so each branch gets exactly what it can use.

Any of the three outputs can be left unwired, and that part of the geometry simply goes no further.
