Modeling Menus

   Nodes menu

The Nodes menu - where the node editor lives: beside the model, in its own window, or out of the way.

The three items are the node editor's placement, and one of them is always checked. Choosing one moves the editor; there is no separate open or close command.

Docked - both panes in one window, split by a divider. This is the layout Locus starts in.

Separate Window - the node editor gets its own window and the model window shows just the model. Useful on a small screen, or across two monitors.

Closed - the model window on its own. The graph keeps running: it is still evaluated by this window's engine, so anything it realizes stays live on the canvas and keeps updating as you draw.

Your choice is remembered between launches, so Locus opens the way you left it.

Tip

A separate node window's own close button docks it rather than shutting the graph down, so closing it by hand lands you back in the Docked layout.
