Fillet node icon   Fillet (node)

Round corners with tangent arcs of a set radius; the radius is clamped to fit each corner.

Fillet effect: a sharp rectangle (ghosted) with its corners rounded, the radius drawn from the fillet circle's center out to the arc.

Inputs

  • Geometry (any): the shape(s) whose corners to round.
  • Radius (number): the tangent-arc radius each corner rounds to, in mm.

Outputs

  • Geometry (any): the corner-rounded geometry.

What it is for

Rounds each corner with an arc of the given Radius, tangent to both sides.

Fillet is not limited to corners between two straight edges. A corner where an arc meets a line, or two arcs meet, rounds the same way. A corner too tight for the Radius stays sharp rather than breaking, a Radius of zero or less passes the geometry straight through, and an open contour keeps its endpoints.

A path that comes back on itself gets its closing joint rounded too. Weld a run of open strokes into a loop and the point where it meets itself is a corner like any other, not the one sharp spot left over.
