Runtime API — Cast commands

Home · C# · IDE · UO API · A–Z · Examples · Languages

Each team opens a card with C#-signatures, parameters and several independent examples.

Magic

Sends a request to use a spell/skill. The string form with one argument returns 1 if the client accepts the request and 0 if the name is unknown or rejected. This is not confirmation of a successful effect on the server. The form with target first queues the target, then dispatches the action. Compact forms with target=0/-1 search for a character using filters; explicit serial is used directly. The last flag UO.Wait/waitTarget enables waiting for the target queue to be consumed up to 1000 ms; when the timeout occurs, 0 is returned and the queue is cleared. The flag is not a duration in milliseconds.

Magic

Activates a weapon ability by its name or numeric ID. CastAbility is an alias of UseAbility. Returns 0 if ID is invalid/no character; Accepting a request does not guarantee a successful hit on the server.

Magic

Queues/sets the object target and submits the spell through the ClassicUO cast bridge. The target UO.Wait is cancelled when the cast request itself is rejected so a failed CastToObject does not leave a stale target trap behind.

Magic

Returns true if the specified spell or ability is currently active on the character, otherwise false .

Magic

Returns the stored value of UO.Timer at the time the cast request was accepted. The unit is a tenth of a second; does not confirm the result of the spell.
