Security and server rules

Shard rules

  • read the server rules;
  • specify the acceptable types of macros;
  • do not use a script if its legality on the shard is unclear;
  • Consider the risk of account blocking.

Credentials

Never add to GitHub:

  • login and password;
  • ready-made personal profiles;
  • settings files without cleaning;
  • magazines with addresses, serial or names;
  • scripts with secrets;
  • private keys and tokens.

Use .gitignore and check for staged changes before every push.

Third party files

Ultima Online game data and commercial fonts may not automatically be considered eligible for distribution. Publish only what you have the rights to, and maintain third-party library licenses.

Checking binary releases

  • post SHA-256 next to ZIP;
  • do not replace the release file without changing the version;
  • keep the test report;
  • build the release from pure source wood;
  • check the unpacked ZIP, and not just the staging folder.
